You are invited to a practical workshop on how to make full use of the National Language Technologies Portal resources at the National Library of Wales on 18 June 2019.

This workshop is suitable for software developers, hackers, computer linguists, computing teachers, language technology volunteers, and all those interested in using portals resources in Welsh and multilingual computer products.

We will try to hold workshops to meet the specific interests of those attending. So please indicate in order which of the workshops below would be of most interest to you, with 5 indicating the one that interests you most, and 1 indicating the least interested. Please answer in the additional Information textbox

  • Speech recognition resources
  • Text to speech resources
  • API Services and Plugins (Vocab, Online Cysill, Terms, Legitimate)
  • Machine Translation Resources 
  • Contributing to Common Voice

The workshops will be run by the Language Technologies Unit staff and Partners. This workshop is funded by the ESRC through Bangor University's Impact Acceleration Fund in collaboration with the National Library of Wales.

Mae Uned Technolegau Iaith Canolfan Bedwyr yn uned ymchwil hunan-gynhaliol sy’n datblygu adnoddau ac offer iaith cyfrifiadurol ar gyfer y Gymraeg, yr ieithoedd Celtaidd eraill, a sefyllfaoedd amlieithog.

Mae’n gwneud gwaith safoni termau, ac yn datblygu geiriaduron electronig ar sawl platfform gwahanol gan gynnwys ar ffurf gwefannau ac apiau.

Mae’n datblygu technoleg lleferydd ar gyfer y Gymraeg ac ieithoedd eraill, ac yn cynnal cronfeydd data enwau lleoedd ar y we.

Mae’r Uned hefyd yn datblygu deunyddiau dysgu drwy gymorth cyfrifiadur, gan gynnwys gemau iaith.

Mae gan yr Uned gysylltiadau agos â nifer o adrannau academaidd yn y brifysgol, gan gynnwys Cymraeg, Ieithyddiaeth, Ieithoedd Modern, Cymdeithaseg a Gwyddorau Gofal Iechyd. Yn 2016 bu’r Uned yn un o sefydlwyr Rhwydwaith Ymchwil Technoleg a’r Gymraeg ym Mhrifysgol Bangor, sy’n dod ag ymchwilwyr yn y maes hwn at ei gilydd o fewn y brifysgol.

Mae ganddi hefyd gysylltiad agos â byd busnes a diwydiant, ac mae’n ymgymryd â chynlluniau Partneriaethau Trosglwyddo Gwybodaeth (KTP).
