The aim of the conference is to consider the issues effecting rural communities across Carmarthenshire in order to inform the work of the Rural Affairs Task Group, established by Carmarthenshire County Council. There will also be an opportunity to further consider issues raised by partners and through the consultation so far; also to identify actions the Council, in partnership with other public bodies and organisations, can take in addressing those issues to support rural regeneration in future years.

Key note speakers at the conference include:

  • Professor Janet Dwyer, University of Gloucestershire 
  • Gerallt Llywelyn Jones, former Managing Director of Menter Môn

Mae Gweithgor Materion Gwledig yn grŵp trawsbleidiol o aelodau etholedig sy'n cael ei gadeirio gan y Cyng. Cefin Campbell, Aelod o'r Bwrdd Gweithredol dros Faterion Gwledig a Diogelwch Cymunedol.  Sefydlwyd y Grŵp ym Medi 2017 gyda'r bwriad o ystyried y materion sy'n effeithio ar gymunedau gwledig yn Sir Gaerfyrddin, ac i nodi camau gweithredu gall y Cyngor, mewn partneriaeth â chyrff cyhoeddus a sefydliadau eraill, fynd i'r afael â'r materion hynny i sicrhau a chefnogi adfywio gwledig yn y dyfodol.

The Rural Affairs Task Group is cross-party group of elected members which is chaired by Cllr Cefin Campbell, Executive Board Member for Rural Affairs and Community Safety.  The Group was established in September 2017 with a view to consider the issues effecting rural communities in Carmarthenshire and to identify actions the Council, in partnership with other public bodies and organisations, can take in addressing those issues to ensure and support rural regeneration in future years.
