CAVDAS is a specialist substance use service within the Cardiff and Vale area, supporting people across all ages, regardless of where they are in their journey.
The first of its kind in Wales, CAVDAS is an alliance between Barod, Recovery Cymru and Kaleidoscope, with strategic partners G4S, Pobl & the Area Planning Board.
We’re working in partnership with the people who use our services, to achieve their goals, make positive changes and improve overall health and well-being.
This full day course aims to provide individuals with the skills, knowledge and confidence required to identify potential risk behaviours and promote health and wellbeing relating to sex, substances use and alcohol throughout the life-course.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Understand issues relating to substance use & sexual health, behaviours & relationships in combination
- Understand changing trends & behaviours associated with substance use, sex & risk
- Know of common barriers that prevent individuals from receiving effective support surrounding substance use services & sexual health services and how to identify drug, alcohol, and sexual health risks and raise discussions in relation to SUaSH
- Identify a range of services who are able to provide further advice and support in relation to substance use and sexual health
