Community Energy Knowledge Exchange Visit: Awel Aman Tawe, Cwmllynfell
Friday, 16 March, 2018 | 10:00 - 14:00
Cwmgors, Gwaun Cae Gurwen,
Community energy is a sector that aims to contribute towards a socially just Wales, where local natural resources can be developed for the needs and benefit of local communities. The purpose of the project Community Energy Knowledge Exchange Visits: Expanding Knowledge Amongst Civil Society, Local Authorities and Secondary Schools is to introduce the community energy sector to a new audience. A recent target announced by the Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs in Wales, Lesley Griffiths AM, aims to ensure that 1GW of renewable electricity generated in Wales is to be locally owned by 2030. The knowledge exchange event with Awel Aman Tawe in Cwmllynfell will explore how the community energy sector can be supported and expanded in future so that such a goal can be reached.
The target audience are civil society groups, the third sector, the volunteer sector, community and economic development sector, carbon reduction campaigns and officers within local authorities. If you work within the above sectors, come and join us on one of our knowledge exchange site visits that we are organising to expand your understanding of community energy and develop ways of cooperating in future.
