Llety Cynin

Full details on this, and other Hwyl Events on www.hwylevents.wales

7pm - 10.30pm on Friday 27th July

Enjoy an informal and fun night with traditional Welsh food, dance, and music at Llety Cynin - a working farm set against a beautiful back-drop of rolling green Carmarthenshire countryside.  Whether you're on holiday in West Wales, or live locally - this HwylNos event, with authentic Welsh entertainment and food, will give you lots of wonderful memories to take away with you!

Award-winning Llety Cynin is a perfect location for our HwylNos Events - set on a working farm near the Carmarthenshire / Pembrokeshire border - you'll be met with a warm Welsh welcome immediately as you arrive. And if you're lucky you may also be greeted with a friendly baaa from the sheep and moo from the cows!

The event will be held in the converted coach house, where you'll be treated to our 'real Welsh experience' in a newly built function room overlooking the beautiful farmland.

Our host for the evening is Aled Rhys Jones. Not to be mistaken for a certain famous singer by the same name (!), Aled has built up a reputation as a highly accomplished and humorous compère.

Enjoy a 2-course 'Taste of Wales' meal - with our traditional lamb cawl (the national dish of Wales) served with local bread and cheese, followed by a dessert with a Welsh twist.

Listen to magical harp music from Lucy Jones, vocal performances from Catrin Ann - a classically trained soprano whose reportoire conveys the true essence of Wales - and music and dance from award-winning folk dance group Dawnswyr Talog. Sit back and watch the energetic dancing, or join in with the fun in a mini twmpath (A Welsh 'cèilidh')!

The welsh word 'twmpath' literally means a hump - and comes from the mound or village green upon which musicians sat and played for the community to dance.  Learn some more interesting facts about Wales and our culture, traditions and language on the night!

Carmarthenshire Tourism Association (CTA) has the sole aim of supporting and developing tourism in Carmarthenshire, South West Wales - with a clear focus to provide high quality and relevant business support to the County's tourism and hospitality trade. We are a not-for-profit, trade membership organisation with around 200 members.

The CTA also organises Hwyl Events.  These are events which provide a taste of Wales to visitors to the area - through music, dance, stories and food - and held at a variety of locations throughout Carmarthenshire.
